Terminology Governance and Implementation (TGI)

The Terminology Governance and Implementation (TGI) Sub-team was formed in April 2009 to support the development and implementation of CDISC Terminology.

The TGI Sub-team’s objectives were to:

  1. Define and maintain the CDISC terminology governance process.
  2. Create a terminology user guide (UG) to illustrate uses for CDISC terminology and support its adoption in the CDISC user community.

This UG is designed to provide industry with clear insight into the terminology governance process so that there is complete transparency around the CDISC/ NCI processes utilized to manage the terminology sets. In addition this UG specifically will guide industry on processes and considerations to be cognizant of when adopting the standards or optimizing processes surrounding CDISC terminology adoption.

This UG is aimed at the CDISC user community as an informative document for current or future implementers of the terminology sets associated with CDISC models. The UG will describe utilization scenarios including different sourcing strategies, technical solutions and potential impacts to business processes or other CDISC models.

Please continue to provide feedback on the UG to the Terminology Team.
