SDTMIG v3.1.2

Version 3.1.2 of the Study Data Tabulation Model Implementation Guide (SDTMIG) for Human Clinical Trials corresponds to SDTM version 1.2. Like its predecessors, v3.1.2 is intended to guide the organization, structure, and format of standard clinical trial tabulation datasets submitted to a regulatory authority. It supersedes all prior versions.

Description of Codelist Change	The SDTMIG v3.2 and earlier versions list the CDISC SDTM codelist "COUNTRY" as the terminology codelist to use for the Demographics domain variable COUNTRY. This codelist was retired in 2016-09-30 (Package 27) because it duplicated the ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 codes for the representation of names of countries and their subdivisions. Maintaining the SDTM "COUNTRY" codelist was not reasonable, since it duplicated content maintained by ISO.

Impact of Issue	Coping Strategy
For submissions using CDISC CT package 27 or later, the CDISC SDTM "COUNTRY" codelist is not present.	Use ISO 3166-1 alpha-3. Click the online browser link from https://www.iso.org/iso-3166-country-codes.html
For submissions using CDISC CT package 27 or later, submission values that were prepared using the CDISC SDTM "COUNTRY" codelist for DM.COUNTRY may not be those in the current version of ISO 3166-1 alpha-3	Most values will be identical, but should be checked.
