Parameters of body composition may include fat mass (FM), fat-free mass (FFM; also called "lean mass"), skeletal muscle mass (SM), and appendicular skeletal muscle mass (ASM).
This example shows several muscle mass parameters, measured using bioimpedance spectroscopy. The mathematical method used to calculate each parameter was bioelectric impedance analysis. These parameters were provided by the vendor. Sponsors could also include the specific device used to measure such parameters.
Height would be represented in the VS domain and the body composition indices could be derived by the sponsor in an ADaM dataset.
