The CDISC French-Speaking User Group (GUF) held our second event of the year in Brussels, on 27th September 2017, hosted and sponsored by SGS Life Sciences at the great Brussels Pullman Hotel. There were around 70 registrations and the room was almost full.
The conference was introduced by Xavier Gobert (MyData-TRUST), who leads the French committee and is part of the E3C committee.
J. Mambrini (Pierre Fabre) gave a general update on the CDISC standards and activities thanks to a slide deck provided by CDISC prior to the meeting on latest details and updates. Then, the attendees enjoyed several presentations sharing experiences and best practices related to the implementation of the CDISC standards and demonstrating their added value in clinical research process:
The last session was dedicated to a participative workshop around the topic “Metadata Centralization, traceability and management of Controlled Terminology”.
The GUF board developed an electronic survey prior to the meeting and sent it to members in order to collect feedback regarding these topics. The results were used as the basis of discussion during the workshop.
There were some very interesting comments and interactions from the participants regarding the presentations. The attendees also shared useful information regarding the issues they face in their daily job.
Thanks to all of our presenters X. Gobert (MyData-TRUST), J. Mambrini (Pierre Fabre), D. Benoot (SGS Life Sciences), P. Van Reusel (Innovion), S.Lebeau (Danone Research), C. Santillan (Chiltern), N. Sabin (Oxmo CDM), K. Fanouillere (Sanofi) and N. De Saint Jorre (Quanticsoft)
There was a significant number of participants attending for the first time to an event organized by our CDISC community. Each event brings many newcomers and feedback is always encouraging.
The next meeting will take place Q1-Q2 2017 (date TBD) in Paris. The committee will provide more information in the coming months.
