The Asia-Pacific region has a population of about 3.8 billion people and the pharmaceutical and clinical research industries are growing, especially in Japan and China. CDISC made inroads into the region by setting up the Japan CDISC Coordinating Committee (J3C) in 2002. In 2008 the China CDISC Coordinating Committee (C3C) was initiated The AP3C was formally set up in 2014, primarily to provide an opportunity for leaders in Asia-Pacific countries to participate in a CDISC Coordinate Committee where there is not one in their country.
AP3C responsibilities include:
Representing CDISC and promoting its presence in the Asia-Pacific region
Acting as a liaison between CDISC and Asia-Pacific entities
Assisting CDISC on collaborations and partnerships with existing Asia-Pacific organizations
Organizing and planning CDISC Asia-Pacific conferences, and other training events and activities
AP3C goals for 2018:
Helping set up CDISC User Groups in different countries
Connecting and collaborating with regional 3Cs and CDISC User Groups, regulatory authorities, professional groups and key opinion leaders
Organizing CDISC Awareness and CDISC training
Recruiting more members from various countries not presently represented in the AP3C – specifically, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines and Vietnam
