SDTM describes several types of datasets. This diagram illustrates a hierarchical view of those types of datasets.

Findings domains may be represented as findings about a study subject or about an associated person. A findings domain record can be linked to supplemental qualifiers, to comments, or to other records via relationships represented in RELREC.

Finding and Associated Records

Substance administrations or other treatments or procedures represented in an Interventions domain may be administered to a subject or an associated person. An intervention record can be linked to findings about the intervention, to supplemental qualifiers, to comments, or to other records via relationships represented in RELREC.

Intervention and Associated Records

 

Occurrences represented in Events domains may happen to a subject or an associated person. An event record can be linked to findings about the event, to supplemental qualifiers, to comments, or to other records via relationships represented in RELREC.
